Did you know that the Windows 10 Mobile OS comes with a built-in frequency equalizer?

The Audio EQ on the new Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL, Windows flagship handsets, are easy to use, following the same principle on all Windows 10-based smartphones.

Before getting into the details of how to use this EQ, it’s important to note that there’s a lot more to do with EQ than boosting the boss. Boosting EQ bands associated with the instruments can make their sound much louder in the mix whereas cutting the EQ bands could make them fine and more subtle.

One of the primary things to note is that each genre of music has its specific spectrum fingerprint that is generally determined by the musical instruments often pertaining to that certain genre. Following true essence, this means that any EQ setting could work well for classic Jazz music, but may not work so well for heavy bass genres.

Step#1: Settings -> Extras.

Step#2: Go to Equalizer.

Step#3: Select each of the 6 presents included and listen to how music changes.

Step#4: Select the preset that you like.
